Burma is a country that has recently opened up its economy and borders to tourists. Golden pagodas, poetic structures and wild lands… Burma, known as Myanmar, is generating a lot of hype and allure today. Its facilities and infrastructure are however few, which interestingly lends the country an undeniable charm. But this presents a problem for a traveler who wants to organize his/her trip alone and is eager to live out the adventure by oneself. It is far from feasible and involves a greater risk of something going wrong. Planning a trip to Burma by yourself will require more organization, patience and time than for any other country in Southeast Asia.

Hotel reservations in Burma

Quality hotels are booked months in advance in Burma due to very few existing properties and raining applications. It is definitely more convenient to go through an agency that handles all reservations for you.

Transportation in Burma

Another important detail: transportation. As I roamed around for hours in Burma on a bus, I can describe the trip: challenging. The roads are not that developed and the mountain roads are winding. I strongly advise anyone who wants to enjoy their trip to avoid this kind of stress, and book through an agency that offers a car and a driver, something difficult or almost impossible to do from abroad!

As a traveler I quickly realized that transport difficulties often led me to the same endless sites. A tailor made agency’s knowledge of the country and its drivers allow you to discover rare off the beaten track destinations that are rarely visited. Shanti Travel also create routes “tailored” according to your wishes, requirements and advice.

Secure & Safe Travel

And last but not the least, the security and assistance offered by an agency. Agencies such as Shanti Travel guarantee secure traveling along with 24/7 as well as on the spot assistance if necessary. And not only in Burma, but in other South Asian destinations such as India, the Himalayas, Bhutan, Nepal, etc.

Shanti Travel advisers are at your disposal to advise you and organize your memorable trip to Burma!

I got your information from the Colston family who has arranged a trip to both India and Sri Lanka through you.

We are looking for a trip December 21-27 and we are interested in Myanmar. Can you give me an idea of prices and what places that we would be able to see? We would love to have more than one day to relax and unwind at a beach.

There are four of us. Two adults and two children (11 and 13)

    Thank you,
    Jolie Helms
