Published on 15/06/2017 by Alienor Shanti Travel

The wild and green North of Bali offers a vast array of interest points – still widely unexplored. Alienor, Travel Expert at Shanti Travel, went off the beaten paths to discover the Sekumpul waterfalls and spent a night in a family homestay. She shares her experience through this article.

Let’s head north towards Sekumpul, a traditional village in a remote region of Northern Bali. It is a long journey by bike from Denpasar and it gets colder and colder as we travel further and further north. After passing by the Lakes Buyan and Tambligan, we take this tiny little path that brings us in the small village of Sekumpul.

Published on 31/05/2017 by Charlotte Piffard

An intense journey: trekking to Langtang…. Charlotte shares with us her experience of a trek in Langtang, the Himalayan region that has suffered from the earthquake but is now coming back to life.

160 km. 9 full days of trekking. 4600m altitude. 27 litres of water drunk. Probably as much was sweated. And thousands of stars. Kyanjing Gompa: the final push before we reach the village where we will end our day.

Eight hours of walking, eight hours of putting one foot in front of the other, sometimes alone with our thoughts, sometimes laughing or rebuilding the world through animated discussions. And all the time, contemplating the beauty of the Himalayan peaks.

Taj Mahal

Shanti Travel organized a wondeful trip to Agra. Everything went very smoothly and your suggestions for both hotels and activities were excellent. We’d
particularly like to praise our driver Lilaram, who really did a wonderful job. He drove very safely, on top of which he speaks reasonable English and had much to tell us as well! Thanks again Shanti Travel! – Bernice van Bronkhorst

Testimonial – “My trip to Dharamshala was excellent”

Published on 08/04/2013 by Ritu ShantiTravel

Short Break to Dharamshala

Balcony of flowers near the library of tibetan works in mcleodganjI would rate the services of Shanti Travel as excellent. I contacted them on short notice, and was impressed with their agility and efficiency to arrange all the details in just a few days. The trip was fine. The hotel is modest, but very clean and decent, with good vegetarian food, friendly Tibetan staff and an excellent location, not far from the main square; I would definitely choose it again.
